About Enda Bardell

Thank you for visiting my website. endabardell@telus.net

I have been a risk taker most of my life. It could stem from my parents, who in their mid-thirties fled Estonia to Sweden as refugees, in order to avoid being sent to the GULAG by the Communists. Defending his country was my father’s crime.

My restlessness and curiosity has taken me through many aspects of life and stimulating careers such as costume designer, banker, fabric artist, founder and former owner of Enda B. Fashion Limited, and a Realtor with Royal LePage.

In Art, I have explored Impressionist work and  Abstract in Watercolours and Acrylics.

Over the years I have been influenced by numerous artists beginning with my fascination of Vincent Van Gogh, when I was in my teens, followed by Emily Carr, Lawren Harris, Toni Onley, (who became a good friend), JW Turner, John Singer Sargent and Georgia O'Keeffe, not for her florals but for the way she saw and painted landscapes.

I’m an Active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists (FCA) established in 1941, dedicated to the promotion and professional development of artists, and services for art collectors. The FCA has also enabled me to take numerous workshops from some very talented Senior members in Vancouver, British Columbia.

During the course of my art career, I have exhibited extensively and won many awards. Most recently, I have the honour of being invited to the "Estonian Artists in Exile" exhibition in the National Museum of art, KUMU, in Tallinn, Estonia.
